The name of our department has been changed to Social Sciences and Turkish Education since the academic year of 2016-2017.The Unit of Turkish Language Teaching Department was merged into the department. The Unit of Social Studies Teaching, which was initially affiliated with The Department of Elementary Education was also moved to our department. The Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education carries out educational activities on 1st and 2nd floors of the Faculty of Education Block B building. There are two units in our department: Turkish Education and Social Studies Education.
The academic staff comprises 1 Professor, 6 Assoc.Prof.Dr., 6 Asst.Prof.Dr. and 2 Research Assistants. Those who graduate from our department are awarded a bachelor's degree. Those who have successfully completed four years (8 semesters) can receive a Bachelor's Degree. Students who graduate from our department can work in official and private institutions affiliated with the Ministry of National Education. Both units provide its students with the opportunity to partake in national and international exchange programmes such as Erasmus and Farabi.
